Lunenburg Public Schools District’s student-to-teacher ratio fell by 2.7% in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Lunenburg Public Schools District fell by 2.7% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 1,597 students being taught by 111.3 teachers in Lunenburg Public Schools District, which covers schools within Worcester County and has a main office in Lunenburg. That's an average of 14.3 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Lunenburg Public Schools District had 1,593 students and 108.7 teachers on staff.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.

Massachusetts was ranked as the eighth best state for teachers, according to a WalletHub study.
