Student-to-teacher ratio in Leominster Public Schools District fell in 2021-22 school year

The ratio of students to teachers in Leominster Public Schools District fell by 11.6% in the 2021-22 school year, according to the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.

There were 5,915 students being taught by 430.7 teachers in Leominster Public Schools District, which covers schools within Worcester County and has a main office in Leominster. That's an average of 13.7 students per teacher in the district during the 2021-22 school year.

In the previous year, Leominster Public Schools District had 5,859 students and 378.3 teachers on staff.

Massachusetts has roughly one teacher for every 13 students, which is better than the national average of one teacher for every 16 students.

Despite the shortage, under-representation of ethnicities among teachers was found to be a concern. The Rennie Center reported that only nine percent of teachers are people of color.
